With a design that harkens back to the traditional schemes of the 1920’s and the Golden Age of Architecture in golf, Springfield Golf Club has quickly made a name for itself among Charlotte golf courses since opening in 2001.
The 6,906 yard par 72 Clyde Johnston designed layout is located on a heavily wooded and hilly site just over the South Carolina border in Fort Mill. The course features four holes that flank Sugar Creek, affording players spectacular views which includes 13 holes that play across and along perennial streams that feed into the Catawba River.

We just played this course on 12/2/10. Their new greens are incredible. Most of the miniverde greens around don't hold shots that great, but these sure do. They rolled super smooth and true. The layout is really fun as well, like someone else mentioned, there are a couple of tricky shot holes out here so be sure and take a good look at the pictures on the scorecard before you whale away from the tee box. I'll be playing this course again ASAP!! |

I just played this course recently and have to say that it's in great shape. They have the new MiniVerde greens and are in really good shape. They seem to hold shots pretty well also. The layout is pretty good also. You probably need to play this course a few times as there are some doglegs and blind shots that require some knowledge of the course. It's definitely not a pull out the driver on every hole kind of course. We played on a Friday and although several groups went off before us, the pace of play was very good. I will definitely play this course again soon! |

Still one of the most scenic and challenging courses in the area, played on 11/8 and in great condition, fast greens rolled true. If you can hit fairways you can score but if get into the rough which usually means trees it's bogey or double. |
